Considering the description of the what the setting is like at UK HealthCare (in the internship fact sheet), what traits do you possess that make you a good fit for medical music therapy? Support your response with examples.

Video 1 (3 parts) of Part 1: Beverly Smith is 58 years old. She has been referred to music therapy for pain. You have read in her chart that she has a new terminal diagnosis. You walk on to the unit to find Beverly’s nurse. You inform him/her that their patient has an order for music therapy. The nurse says, “I’m new here – what is music therapy?” How do you respond? o Part 2: You enter Mrs. Smith’s room, who is receiving music therapy for the first time. What do you say? o Part 3: Immediately following the session, as you are outside of the room wiping down your guitar, visitors of your patient walk up and exclaim, “were you just playing for Beverly!?” How do you respond?
