About
Dr. Dolphus R. Dawson is a periodontist at UK HealthCare who performs both non-surgical and surgical periodontal therapy, dental implants, and aesthetic periodontal therapy. He is also certified as a Pinhole Surgical Technique clinician for treating gum recession.
Additionally, Dr. Dawson is a professor of periodontics in the UK College of Dentistry and is the chair of the Department of Oral Health Practice and director of Graduate Periodontology.
Dr. Dawson received his dental degree and certificate of advanced general dentistry training from the University of Louisville. He then received his certificate in periodontology, master’s degree in oral biology and master’s in public health from the University of Kentucky.
Dr. Dawson has authored or co-authored numerous peer-reviewed articles. He is active in professional organizations, including the American Academy of Periodontology (AAP), and received the AAP Educator Award. Dr. Dawson also serves on the Commission on Dental Accreditation.
