About
Morgan Turner is a senior genetic counselor at the UK Markey Cancer Center Cancer.
Turner has served as an oncology-specialized genetic counselor since 2018, first in the Washington, DC area and now at UK HealthCare.
They have a passion for and experience in serving patients and families affected by cancer as they navigate genetic testing for hereditary cancer predisposition conditions as well as appropriate medical care based on personal history, family history and genetic information.
When they’re not at work, Turner loves to take walks in nature, is a dedicated reader of fiction and nonfiction, and spends as much time as possible with their partner and pets.
Personal Statement
As a genetic counselor, my top priority is to educate and empower patients to make their own decisions about whether to pursue genetic testing for inherited cancer predisposition and the medical decision-making that may arise from that decision.
After working with thousands of patients and families, I have learned that every single person has a unique journey that has brought them to genetic counseling, and I understand the hopes and fears that come along with that journey. I always strive to center each patient as the ultimate decision-maker for their own healthcare.
