Shuttle service

All campus routes - as well as off-campus Lextran routes - are viewable real-time on TransLoc Rider, UK’s GPS-based bus locating system. TransLoc Rider can be accessed at uky.transloc.comand via the free TransLoc Rider Android and iPhone apps. Additionally, you may send a text message to 41411 with UKY and the appropriate stop number to receive a message back listing the next three arrival times for that stop. Visit the UK Transportation Services shuttle webpage for more info.

Snow removal plan

The snow removal plan enables UK physical plant staff to enlist help if needed from contractors in removing snow from parking lots, allowing UK physical plant staff to concentrate on removing snow from roads and sidewalks. Check the UK Snow Removal Plan to see which roads are plowed first and choose the best route to your parking.

Free jumpstart service

This service is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week to UK parking permit holders, campus patients and visitors. If your car battery dies on campus and you need a jumpstart, call 859-257-5757 Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 7:30 p.m. After hours, call the university’s towing contractor, Bluegrass Towing at 859-231-0197. Requesting individuals are responsible for any advanced service required that results from a vehicle’s inability to start following typical jumpstart procedures or for situations in which batteries fail to hold adequate charge.

Overnight accommodations

For employees who think they may need to stay over, accommodations can be requested through the Central Staffing Office at 859-218-7800 option 1.

While you are free to make your own arrangements, UK HealthCare will not reimburse accommodations made independently.

Safety in winter weather

Whether shoveling snow or spending time outside in extreme conditions, view this information on how to stay healthy and safe in the cold.

UK Facilities Management has a priority snow clearing plan based on the volume of walking traffic across campus. Check the WalkSafe sidewalk snow plans to pick the smartest route from the parking lot or bus stop to your destination. Some entrances are cleared before others; it may be worth using a different entrance on snowy days.
