About

Dr. Naureen Narula is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at UK HealthCare's Department of Cardiothoracic Surgery. She specializes in Lung Transplant, Heart-Lung transplant, ECMO (extracorporeal membrane oxygenation), and critical care medicine. Her mission is to enhance patient care in these critical areas.

Originally hailing from India, Dr. Narula earned her medical degree there before embarking on a rigorous training journey in the United States. She completed her Internal medicine residency and then pursued a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical care medicine at Northwell Health in New York. Dr. Narula's commitment to excellence led her to further hone her skills through an additional year of advanced fellowship training in Lung and Heart-Lung transplant at Stanford University in California

Why choose transplant?

I was drawn to the field of Lung and Heart-Lung transplantation because it held the promise of providing hope and life-changing care to patients confronting serious medical challenges.

Every patient is unique, and I firmly believe in customizing my approach to suit their particular requirements. Central to my patient care philosophy is open and transparent communication, collaborative decision-making, and an unwavering dedication to the highest standards of medical excellence. With comprehensive training in lung transplantation and critical care medicine, I possess the knowledge and skills necessary to manage intricate medical challenges.

When I'm not at work, I find joy in traveling, indulging in a good book, and savoring precious moments with my family.

Here's a fascinating fun fact about me: I recently accomplished a cross-country drive from the East Coast to the West Coast, experiencing the breathtaking landscapes and diverse regions of the United States along the way.
