UK HealthCare has several options for establishing a primary care physician for you and your family. All services are offered at the Kentucky Clinic and are available to new or established patients. Primary Care is also offered at other locations outside of Lexington in Georgetown, Hazard and Hindman. Follow the links below for detailed offerings.
Adolescent Medicine: Our team of physicians, nurses, social workers, nutritionists, and psychologists has expertise in a wide range of adolescent concerns. We treat every patient as a unique person with unique needs - emotional, physical and psychological.
Clinica Amiga: Clinica Amiga is a pediatric primary care clinic located at Kentucky Clinic South that serves the Hispanic/Latino community of Lexington. The Spanish-speaking team of Clinica Amiga hopes to bridge language and cultural barriers by providing care that is informed by cultural sensitivity and understanding in order to address the health disparities that many members of this community face.
Dentistry-Diagnosis, Wellness and Prevention Clinic: The Diagnosis, Wellness and Prevention Clinic is an option for patients interested in addressing both their dental and overall health needs in one location. Patients receive both a dental exam and a medical wellness exam at the same visit, using a model that incorporates the knowledge and skills of a nurse practitioner, supervising dentist, dental hygienist, and dental students.
Family & Community Medicine: Offers continuing and comprehensive health care and preventive services for the entire family. These include the diagnosis and treatment of acute and chronic illnesses and injuries for adults and children, routine gynecology services, maternity care, well-child care, immunizations, preventive check-ups, certain minor surgeries, mental health services, and primary care hospital services. Care is provided in consultation with when needed.
General Internal Medicine & Geriatrics: The Internal Medicine Group provides diagnosis, treatment and management of patients from adolescence through adult age, including geriatrics. The clinic specializes in primary care, wellness and prevention, and care of patients with chronic medical conditions.
Med-Peds Clinic: The doctors at our med-peds clinic have unique training, enabling them to care for a person throughout their entire life. They are board-certified in both internal medicine and pediatrics specializing in both routine and complicated health problems in patients of all ages.
Pediatric QuILT: The QuILT (Quality Integrative Life Team) Clinic provides primary medical care for children with special health care needs. Our mission is to work with children and families to ensure that the child receives high-quality, comprehensive, coordinated, compassionate health care.
Primary Care in Eastern Kentucky: Family & Community Medicine providers are available to see patients in Hazard at North Fork Valley Regional Medical Center and in Hindman at June Buchanan Medical Clinic. For the convenience of our patients, an onsite pharmacy and lab are available at both locations. Dental services are also available.
Primary Care Pediatrics: Our pediatricians and everyone who works on the pediatric team are experts in the special needs of children. From primary care needs to specialty care, we work with families to keep kids healthy and happy.
Team Blue Primary Care Clinic: The Team Blue Primary Care Clinic is a primary care option exclusively for members of the UK health plans.
Transform Health Services: At this clinic, our providers share the common goal of promoting health and providing holistic care for people who identify within the transgender spectrum as well as those who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, questioning or self-defined sexual orientation. We provide primary care for all ages, cross gender hormone therapy for older teens and adults, mental health counseling, and referrals to surgeons, other specialists and community resources.
Women’s Health–Primary Care: Created specifically for women, the center offers high-quality comprehensive medical service for women. The center is focused on educating patients and the community overall about women's health through educational and community outreach programs. One of the primary goals of the center is for all Kentucky women to fill out the Kentucky Women's Health Research Registry survey and consider volunteering for medical studies that will help us advance medical knowledge about women's health.
