The client’s day consists of six to seven group sessions, including goal-setting, cognitive behavioral processing, psycho-educational, coping, recreational and social skills. There are daily individual sessions with a psychiatrist and each adolescent has a scheduled family session during his or her stay. Throughout the day there is free time to socialize with peers and quiet time for homework, journaling and therapeutic reflection. Fayette County Schools teachers provide grade level appropriate instruction.

To encourage participation clients earn points for each group session or activity. Points correspond to privileges they may receive for the following day.

Adolescents may call immediate family members or guardians daily. Visiting is permitted four days per week and on holidays.

Inquiries and referrals are handled by the intake staff. Referrals may be made by parents, outpatient providers, school officials or other concerned members of the community.
