    A graduate of the United States Naval Academy, William Watson earned his medical degree and doctor of philosophy in neuroscience from the Uniformed Services University of Health Sciences (USUHS). He then completed an internship in internal medicine at Bethesda Naval Hospital, followed by a three-year neurology residency at the National Capital Consortium.

    Dr. Watson served as chair of the Department of Neurology at Bethesda Naval, an associate professor of neurology and neuroscience at USUHS, chairman of the USUHS Department of Neurology as well as director of the USUHS neurology labs.

    Dr. Watson's clinical focus is general neurology. His research interests are broad, and his most recent works are focused on the neuropathology of traumatic brain injury, impairment of the aspartate-malate shuttle in rats and the improvement of cognitive performance with the ketogenic diet after brain injury. He serves on the editorial board for two journals and brings extensive publication and presentation experience to Kentucky Neuroscience Institute.

    Dr. Watson is now practicing neurology at the Kentucky Neuroscience Institute.
