Shelly Ferrell received his medical degree from the University of Louisville, School of Medicine. He is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology. He served in the US Army for eight years as an anesthesiologist during his residency, with four of those years at Brooke Army Medical Center, San Antonio, and four years as Department of Anesthesiology Chief at Ft. Leonard Wood, Mo. In 2011 he was deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Enduring Freedom, where he was the Chief of Anesthesia of his deployment team during the mission.
Dr. Ferrell's additional interests include regional anesthesia, difficult airway management, trauma, mass casualty management and medical ultrasound use.
