Maher A. Baz, MD

Medical Director, Lung Transplant

Biography

My name is Maher Baz; I received my degree at the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. I completed a residency and a fellowship in pulmonary disease at Duke University Medical Center.

I see my patients at UK Transplant Center in Lexington. We have a lung transplant clinic every day of the week.

I chose to get into the field of medicine to help people, to alleviate suffering.

My philosophy on patient care is to treat patients like I wish to be treated. I try to always be mindful that they are someone’s parent, child, sibling or grandparent first, and they happen to have a health-related issue.

I love soccer, jogging and movies. I am also a history and geography fan.
