Ryan D. Muchow, MD


My name is Ryan Muchow; I am a pediatric orthopaedic surgeon at Shriners Hospitals for Children, Lexington and Assistant Professor, Pediatric Orthopaedics at the University of Kentucky. I am board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. I enjoy seeing all children with pediatric orthopedic conditions and have a specific focus on hip preservation surgery and scoliosis. I am currently involved in research pertaining to trauma, scoliosis, and hip pathology.

I graduated with distinction from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I remained to earn my medical degree. I completed a residency in orthopaedic surgery at the University of Wisconsin. I specialized in pediatric orthopaedics by completing a fellowship in pediatric orthopaedic and spine surgery at Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children in Dallas.

I am a member of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery (AAOS), the Pediatric Orthopaedic Society of North America (POSNA), the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), and the Christian Medical and Dental Association (CMDA).
