Voice Box Cancer Survivorship
Finishing treatment for voice box cancer can be exciting. We’re here for patients with ongoing support and monitoring as they begin their life following treatment.
You will get a personalized survivorship care plan that includes regular followup visits and needed tests, as well as any ongoing support you may need. Our team will support and care for you as you live your life following voice box cancer treatment.
Our voice box cancer surivivorship services include:
Regular Monitoring
Doctors will watch you closely for signs that your cancer has returned or a new cancer has developed. You’ll have checkups with your oncologist, including regular laryngoscopies to look into your throat for any signs of cancer or complications. You may also need imaging tests.
Nutrition Counseling
You’ll get dietary and supplement recommendations from our nutritionists so you can get the right nutrients for your body and maintain a healthy weight. Some patients may need a feeding tube to get the nutrition they need. We can help you manage that process.
Swallowing and Speech Therapy
Our speech therapists will assist you with speech and swallowing issues from voice box surgery and treatment.
Help with Side Effects
Be sure to tell your doctor or nurse about any new side effects you experience. We want to help you find ways to manage side effects and make sure those side effects are not signs of recurring cancer.
