During and after treatment, we offer comprehensive support services for patients with speech and communication issues, side effects and more.
You’ll find a supportive team at Markey that’s ready to help you and your family with needs beyond your cancer treatment.
Our support services include:
Speech therapy: Treatment for voice box cancer can affect your speech. Our speech language pathologists will work with you to find communication options. If you have voice box removal, you will work with our speech therapists to find new ways to speak.
Palliative care: We want to help improve your quality of life as you go through this process. Our palliative care team also provides comfort and support for patients and their families. We can help you manage or even reduce some of the side effects from treatments like radiation therapy and chemotherapy.
Financial support: Our social workers can help if you need assistance with transportation, financial aid, insurance, housing or other concerns.
Emotional care: Our chaplains and cancer counselors provide comfort and understanding for patients and their loved ones. Let us know if you’re feeling overwhelmed or just need someone to talk to.
