  • DanceBlue

DanceBlue is a University of Kentucky student-run organization that fundraises year-round and culminates in a 24-hour no-sitting, no-sleeping dance marathon. • Jarrett’s Joy Cart

As a patient himself, Jarrett Mynear knew that long days at doctor visits and long stays in the hospital could be boring, scary and even depressing. That’s why, when he was just 9, he started Jarrett’s Joy Cart, a program that offers moments of joy to children in crisis situations. Since Jarrett started his Joy Cart in 1999, Jarrett’s Joy Cart has touched the lives of tens of thousands of children from all across Kentucky and beyond.

  • Kerrington’s Heart

Moments after she was born, Kerrington Johnson was diagnosed with a rare heart defect. Her parents, Sam and Christy, founded Kerrington’s Heart to assist patients and families through each step in their journey of dealing with congenital heart defects. The foundation offers comfort bags, certificates of bravery, educational support, and financial assistance to families in need of meals, fuel and lodging.
