North Fork Valley Community Health Center is part of a federal program aiming to end the HIV epidemic by increasing access to testing and treatments.

Are you at risk?

Everyone can be impacted by HIV regardless of sexual orientation, ethnicity, gender or age. But certain people are at a disproportionately high risk, such as:

  • Gay, bisexual and other men who have sex with men (particularly Black, Latino and American Indian/Alaska Native men)
  • Black women
  • Transgender women
  • People who inject drugs

If you think you may be at risk, we can help provide education, information, testing and PrEP to help prevent or treat HIV.

Testing & prevention

One of the best ways to protect yourself against HIV is to get tested regularly, or after you think you may have been exposed to HIV.

The best way to prevent HIV is through preventive medicines like PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis). PrEP is a once-a-day pill that’s highly effective when taken as directed.*

*If you are at risk of HIV exposure through sex or injection drug use, ask a healthcare professional if PrEP is right for you.
