Wesley Coffman, DMD

  • About

    Dr. Wes Coffman earned his DMD in 1978 from the UK College of Dentistry, where he is now an assistant professor, directing the practice management course for fourth-year dental students. Before his retirement from private practice in 2010, he practiced in both solo and group dental practices for 32 years, with a focus on health-centered dentistry.

    Dr. Coffman is an accredited member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry and has participated in the organization’s “Give Back A Smile” initiative, volunteering his time and experience to restore the smiles of men and women were who victims of sexual assault. Before attending dental school, Dr. Coffman was honorably discharged after four years of service in the U.S. Army, where he served a one-year tour of duty in Vietnam as a helicopter pilot and earned the Bronze Star.

    Outside the office, Dr. Coffman has been a life-long sports fan, starring on his high school basketball team in Earlington, Ky. and receiving a basketball scholarship to attend the University of Tennessee. Now, he enjoys watching sports and remains active through running, golf, skiing and tennis. He has been married to his wife, Jennifer, a retired federal judge, for 45 years. Their son, Will, lives and works in Washington, D.C., and their daughter, Blair, lives in San Francisco and works in the Bay Area.
