    Robert A. Broughton received his medical degree from the Bowman Gray School of Medicine of Wake Forest University in 1976. He completed my residency training in pediatrics followed by a year as Chief Resident at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in 1980. He then completed fellowship training in pediatric infectious diseases at the Baylor College of Medicine in 1982.

    Broughton has been a member of the pediatric faculty at UK since 1983 and is currently Professor of Pediatrics and Chief of the Division of Pediatric Infectious Diseases. He is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in Pediatrics and in Pediatric Infectious Diseases.
