Katherine McKinney received her medical degree from Medical University of Ohio, Toledo. She then completed a residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Kentucky, Lexington followed by a fellowship in patient safety at the Lexington VA Medical Center. She has expertise in quality and safety curriculum development for health professions trainees in addition to training in primary care women’s health.

Dr. McKinney is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine.

    My usual doctor is Dr. Oler, he was not available, and I saw Dr. McKinney instead. She was lovely, and explained everything where I could understand it perfectly.

    The PA listened to me but seemed to discount my issues. For me to complain about any pain or ache, has to be bad or I wouldn't seek a doctor.

      I think more doctors need to have empathy for women who are struggling with weight gain during peri and not just say, try weight watchers. I think women in this age range are often pushed aside because doctors lack knowledge and/or empathy. As a society we don't talk about what women go through and the effects it has on our minds and bodies.
