My usual doctor is Dr. Oler, he was not available, and I saw Dr. McKinney instead. She was lovely, and explained everything where I could understand it perfectly.

The PA listened to me but seemed to discount my issues. For me to complain about any pain or ache, has to be bad or I wouldn't seek a doctor.

Dr McKinney is by far the best doctor I've seen at UK. She takes time to explain, she genuinely seems to care, she responds promptly to question I send via my chart, she follows up. I recommend her to everyone.

I think more doctors need to have empathy for women who are struggling with weight gain during peri and not just say, try weight watchers. I think women in this age range are often pushed aside because doctors lack knowledge and/or empathy. As a society we don't talk about what women go through and the effects it has on our minds and bodies.
