    Personal Statement

The field of OB-GYN encompasses all the aspects of medical care that appeal to me. First, nothing is routine. There is a mix of office-based practice and procedural- or surgical-based practice. Second, pregnancy is an exciting time in a woman's life, but also a time that can be very stressful. Caring for those who are pregnant is an amazing, life-changing experience, and I am blessed to be able to help ensure the health and safety of mother and child. Third, the continuity of caring for women throughout their life stages is very rewarding. It's not uncommon to care for several generations of a family. Delivering children, then grandchildren, and sometimes great-grandchildren, and seeing those patients grow, while helping guide their care throughout their lives, is awesome.

My interests outside of medicine are varied. I enjoy being a husband and father; family gets the majority of my time. I also enjoy cooking, reading (fiction and non-fiction), cycling, lifting weights, hiking and camping. I grew up playing soccer and follow the U.S. national team and the English Premier League. Because I spent some time growing up in Alabama, I am a fan of Auburn football. The Kentucky Wildcats are my No. 1 basketball team, of course. Although my family and I are transplants to the Bluegrass, we feel that this has become our home and we can't imagine living anywhere else. This is one of the most beautiful places we've ever seen.

I practice in Georgetown at Georgetown Community Hospital. All deliveries and surgeries are performed at GCH.

I served as administrative chief resident during my last year of residency, and I received awards in minimally invasive surgery and maternal-fetal medicine during that time.

Dr. Tucker is the best. I've seen him for some of the most ridiculous and embarrassing things. He is always so calm, caring, and reassuring that there is no need to be worried. He is the best at what he does.

I have had terrible experiences with my formee ob/gyn team. I was needlessly anxious and terrified before seeing Dr. Tucker and his team, but they calmed me and kept reassuring me throughout everything. I like them so much that I would not hesitate to send my daughter, mother or sisters to them.
