About

Dr. Beth McNulty grew up in Western Kentucky and moved to Louisville for her undergraduate education. She then went on to receive her medical degree at the University of Louisville and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Upon graduating from medical school, she completed her residency in Otolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery at the University of Louisville. It was during this time that she discovered her true passion in ENT, Otology & Neurotology. She went on to complete a two-year fellowship in Otology, Neurotology and Cranial Base Surgery at the Michigan Ear Institute in Farmington Hills, Michigan.

She is a member of the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head & Neck Surgery, Triological Society, and American Neurotology Society, among others. She is also board certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery.

McNulty is excited to be back in her home state with her husband, Nathan, and their children, Reagan and Anthony.

Personal Statement

I specialize in pediatric and adult hearing loss, tinnitus, dizziness and imbalance, chronic ear infections and skull-based tumors. I see children and adults.

The reason I chose this specialty dates to medical school. I remember the first time I experienced the restoration of hearing, and the magic. It was a lady who had been basically deaf on one side for about 20 years because of scarring of the ear canal, and she was trying on a bone-anchored hearing aid.

When that device restored her hearing, tears immediately came to her eyes. It was really moving for everybody in the room, and I knew then that’s what I wanted to do.

I think one of my strengths as a physician is that I’m able to listen to and relate to my patients. Being a Kentucky native gives me a certain advantage with our patient population, for sure.

I try to step back when I’m counseling patients and think, ‘How would I treat my mother? How would I treat my child?’ I try to bring that to every patient encounter.

Doctor Beth McNulty was excellent in all ways. In addition to immediately fixing my initial concern she made certain she scheduled me to be tested for a health problem I had forgotten. She is outstanding in her concern to fix patients. And, of course, professional and personable.

I believe this diagnosis or exam would be something I would call a process of elimination to get to the real issue. She did a great job with that and answered all of my questions in an easy to understand and caring

Excellent visit with resident and doctor in charge. Both deserve recognition for genuine care and compassion. I did ask a question thru MyChart after the appointment and do hope to receive a response soon

I felt like she just rushed through my care. Although she explained what she thought was happening and some possible treatments, she spent very little time hearing from me. She practically ran out the door and I had to actually stop her in order to ask the questions I had.

Doctor was more concerned about her own agenda than my ideas and concerns. Audiologist and resident were very attentive and caring. McNulty was not very understanding or attentive. Prioritized treatments I wasn't interested in and didn't help me with the plan I set for myself.
