    Personal Statement

I believe when you take care of children you have to have a different care philosophy, you have to think about how much of an impact each treatment would have on a child.

When a child is recovering, it can cause a lot of missed school or a wasted summer. So we can adjust our treatment plans to fit the child's needs.

In my department, we see a wide age range of pediatric patients; we have prenatal consults and treat newborns and children all the way up to 18 years of age.

It's rewarding when you do a good job and when you're able to fix a problem early; so that when they get older, they don't even remember that they had anything done. That's the most rewarding thing, is that it's as if they were born without a urologic problem.
