Excellence and Experience in Lung Transplantation

For more than 30 years, the UK Transplant Center has provided second chances for our lung patients and their families. We have completed more than 500 lung transplants since 1991, and according to survival data, we have one of the best lung transplant programs in the nation.

We offer lung transplant procedures for adults with a variety of life-limiting lung diseases, including chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), pulmonary fibrosis, cystic fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension and sarcoidosis. We also offer combined heart and lung transplants, ECMO as a bridge to transplant, and new treatments for those living with black lung disease.

With clinics in both Lexington and Louisville, we offer care close to home for those living in both the eastern and western halves of the state.
