Suspending all volunteers including NICU and Child Life
Due to COVID-19, onsite requests for medical records are temporarily suspended at this time. Requests will still be accepted via fax or email.
In an effort to best protect our patients during the COVID-19 pandemic, and the need for social distancing, we have implemented a "text upon arrival" system for our patients. When you arrive, please text 859-270-9547 to let us know you have arrived. When your exam room is ready, we will text you to let you know so that you can wait in the convenience of your car to avoid sitting in a waiting room with others. If you have any questions, feel free to call the clinic at 859-323-9897.
Pediatric Primary Care
Our operations will change at all UK HealthCare pediatric primary care clinics in Lexington. These locations include:
- General Pediatrics – Kentucky Clinic South, 2400 Greatstone Point
- UK Pediatrics – Family Care Center, 1135 Harry Sykes Way
- UK Pediatrics @ Maxwell, 135 E. Maxwell St.
The following changes will take effect Monday, April 13, 2020, and will remain in effect until further notice:
- Sick visits for all three clinics, for children who need an in-person visit, will be handled at Pediatrics @ Maxwell. UK TeleCare appointments, via videoconference, are available for families who do not require an in-person visit.
- Well-check appointments for all three clinics will be moved to our Kentucky Clinic South location.
- Family Care Center will be closed temporarily to best organize resources to meet our patients’ needs.
- While not always possible, there may be an opportunity for a patient to see their regular provider or a provider from the same practice.
To schedule an in-person appointment or a UK TeleCare visit, please call 859-323-6211.
During the COVID-19 crisis, the UK Pediatric Transport service will not be allowing parents to accompany pediatric patients who are transported from outside hospitals to the Kentucky Children's Hospital at UK HealthCare. Historically, we have allowed one parent to ride in the front seat with the driver. We are trying to be proactive in protecting the patients, parents and transport staff since there is no way to "socially distance" yourself inside an ambulance.
If you have any questions about this change, please feel free to contact Bari Lee Mattingly, Manager, Emergency Transport Service, Kentucky Children's Hospital, UK HealthCare, by phone 859-218-3404 or email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
