With springtime finally here, spring produce will be hitting local grocery shelves soon. You can expect to see prices drop and the color and flavors of these foods to improve when these fruits and vegetables are in season.

This time of year is great for popular smoothie ingredients, such as bananas, pineapples and strawberries. It's also important to remember that a colorful diet provides a good variety of vitamins and minerals, as well as other health benefits. If you enjoy making smoothies at home, consider incorporating these healthy smoothies into your diet!

Tropical Green Smoothie

Ingredients:

  • 2 oranges (peeled)
  • 2 cups fresh spinach
  • 1 cup chopped fresh pineapple
  • 1 cup red seedless grapes
  • 1 cup ice

Instructions:

Rinse all ingredients, then add into blender and blend until smooth. You may add additional water to thin the smoothie out if preferred. Enjoy!

Strawberry Banana Smoothie

Ingredients:

  •  2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1/2 cup greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup milk (use whole milk if you need extra calories)
