    Our student peer health educators provide their peers with health information and connect students to other campus resources. Peer educators have the ability to develop skills in leadership, public speaking, peer-to-peer information sharing, outreach, marketing and evaluation.

    Programs Presented by Peer Health Educators

    Stress Management [30-50 minutes]: Through this interactive presentation, students learn about causes, consequences and stress management. Special emphasis is placed on how to decrease or manage daily stress.  Students will have the opportunity to assess their own stress level and develop a brief plan to better manage their life.     Why Sex is Like Pizza, Not Baseball [30-60 minutes]: Find out how the metaphors we use to talk about sex can be helpful or harmful. This fun, interactive presentation also covers basics of communication, birth control and safer sex. Contact the Sexperts at UKSexperts@gmail.com for this program.

    Myth or Fact [45-60 minutes]: This presentation debunks some common sexual health myths so students are better equipped to have honest, healthy relationships. Through interactive activities, students understand the possible risks associated with being sexually active and feel more comfortable talking about safer sex.     Communication for Healthy Relationships [30-60 minutes]: This presentation focuses on the importance of communication in healthy, honest relationships. Students learn why communication is important, ways to improve communications skills and tips for starting important conversations. The presentation is just limited to sexual relationships, but also helps students improve communication with friends, roommates and others.     Sexual Health Jeopardy [1 hour]: In this Sexual Health Jeopardy game, students learn about contraception, STIs, and safer sex in a fun, interactive way.  Ideal for groups of eight to 50 people, this presentation requires the ability to view a PowerPoint presentation (computer, projector, etc.).     Kick those Butts – Tobacco Jeopardy [1 hour]: This presentation is set up as a Jeopardy game that focuses on health effects of tobacco use, hookah, and smokeless tobacco.  Students will learn ways to quit or how to avoid the risks and realities of smoking.  Ideal for groups of eight to 50 people, this presentation requires the ability to view a PowerPoint presentation (computer, projector, etc.).
