  • Meet our doctors

    Dr. William Scott BlackWilliam Scott Black, MD, MS
    Dr. Black serves as the medical director of UK Employee Health, director of Population Health Management for UK Health Plans and is also a team physician for the UK Wildcats and the EKU Colonels. Dr. Black is a graduate of the UK College of Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at UK. After working in private practice for several years, Dr. Black returned to UK to finish a Master of Science degree in exercise physiology. He then completed a sports medicine fellowship at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, N.C. Dr. Black is board certified in family medicine with additional certification in sports medicine. Prior to joining the UHS staff in 2007, Dr. Black was on faculty at the University of Louisville, where he established the sports medicine fellowship and served as team physician. In addition to his primary focus seeing UK HealthCare workers care patients, Dr. Black sees UK students with sports-related injuries and problems.


    Thom DaleThomas Dale II, MD
    Dr. Dale is a graduate of the University of Kentucky and the UK College of Medicine. He completed an internship in Savannah, Ga., and a residency in family practice at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital in Florida. He is board certified in family medicine and emergency medicine. During the summer months, Dr. Dale works in a local community hospital emergency room. For a number of years, he spent his summers doing volunteer work at Mashoko Hospital in Zimbabwe, Africa. Dr. Dale joined University Health Service in 1976. His clinical activities are primarily in the women’s health clinic, but he also sees urgent care and primary care patients.


    Donna Farmer, MDDonna Farmer, MD
    Dr. Farmer obtained her undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She graduated with high distinction from the UK College of Medicine, where she was also elected to membership in the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. Dr. Farmer completed her residency in internal medicine and pediatrics. She is board certified in internal medicine. She joined the team at University Health Service in 2011 after working in private practice as an internist, in addition to working in the emergency department and urgent care medicine. Dr. Farmer sees primary care patients.


    Susan GriffithJ. Susan Griffith, MD 
    Dr. Griffith is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Kentucky and a graduate of the UK College of Medicine, where she completed her residency in family practice and was chief resident. She is board certified in family practice. Prior to working at University Health Service, Dr. Griffith was clinic director at UK's Family Medical Center. Dr. Griffith joined University Health Service in 1992 and serves as chairman of the UHS QA/QI Committee. Her special clinical interest is dermatology and she sees both primary care patients and women’s health patients.


    Ann HaysAnn A. Hays, MD 
    Dr. Hays obtained her undergraduate degree from Berea College with a bachelor’s degree in biology. She graduated with high distinction from the UK School of Medicine, where she also was elected to membership in Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society. She completed a three-year residency in family medicine and is board certified in that specialty. Dr. Hays joined University Health Service in 1985. She has served on the UHS Management Committee since 1992, served as coordinator of the 4th Year Medical Student Teaching Rotation since 1993, served as medical director of the University Health Service since 2008, and assumed the role of UHS clinic director in 2009. In addition to her administrative duties and full clinic schedule, Dr. Hays enjoys playing USTA tennis, drawing and traveling. She sees both primary care patients and women’s health patients.


    Janine JonesJanine Jones, MD  
    Dr. Jones is a graduate of Asbury College and the UK College of Medicine. She completed her residency in family medicine at the University of North Carolina and is board certified in family practice. She has worked at a mission hospital in Hualian, Taiwan, and in urgent care medicine in Lexington. Dr. Jones has been with University Health Service since 1989 and sees both primary care patients and women’s health patients.


    Scott Littleton, MD
    Dr. Littleton received his undergraduate degree from the University of Kentucky and his medical degree from the University of Louisville School of Medicine. He completed his residency in child and adult psychiatry at the University of Kentucky and is board certified in psychiatry. He has served as the Medical Director at Rivindell Child and Adolescent Psychiatric Hospital and at Lifeskills Community Mental Health. He was in private practice for a number of years in Bowling Green, Ky., offering child and adult psychiatric services and serving as a consultant for college students at Western Kentucky University. He joined University Health Service as Behavioral Health Director in 2012. Dr. Littleton is an avid outdoor sports enthusiast and is particularly interested in kayaking and skiing. 


    Paul McLaughlinPaul McLaughlin, MD 
    Dr. McLaughlin graduated with distinction from both the UK College of Pharmacy and the UK College of Medicine. He completed his residency at the UK Albert B. Chandler Department of Family Practice and is board certified in family practice. Dr. McLaughlin has a background in primary care and urgent care medicine. He joined University Health Service in 2003 and sees both primary care and women’s health patients.


    Mohammad MotalibMohammad Motalib, MD 
    Dr. Motalib is a graduate of Dhaka University & Mymensingh Medical College in Bangladesh. After moving to the U.S., he completed a residency in internal medicine from the College of Physicians & Surgeons Columbia University at Harlem Hospital Center, New York. Dr. Motalib is board certified in internal medicine and sleep medicine. He worked overseas in the disciplines of surgery and emergency medicine, and as a lecturer of anatomy at Sir Salimullah Medical College, Bangladesh. Since 1997, he has worked in the emergency departments of multiple hospitals in Central and Eastern Kentucky. Dr. Motalib joined University Health Service in 2009, and sees primary care patients.


    Matthew NeltnerMatthew Neltner, MD 
    Dr. Neltner graduated from Thomas More College in Crestview Hills, Ky., in 2001 with a double major in biology and psychology. He graduated from the UK College of Medicine in 2005 and completed his psychiatry residency at UK in 2009. He is board certified in psychiatry. Dr. Neltner's research and clinical interests are in the areas of behavioral and substance addictions. He joined the University Health Service behavioral health team in 2009.  


    Scott PrinceT. Scott Prince, MD, MSPH 
    Dr. Prince is a graduate of Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta. He completed residencies at Spartanburg Regional Medical Center in Spartanburg, S.C., and at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital. In addition to serving part-time as a consultant in occupational medicine and employee health at University Health Service, Dr. Prince is an associate professor of preventive medicine and environmental health at UK. His special interests include travel medicine, preventive medicine, environmental medicine, and impairment/disability, and he is board certified in occupational medicine. Dr. Prince joined University Health Service in 2002 and sees workers care patients in Employee Health.  


  • Meet our ARNPs

    Kim Bennett Kim Bennett, ARNP
    Kim Bennett has an ADN in nursing from Midway College, a Bachelor of Science from the University of Kentucky, and a BSN and MSN from Eastern Kentucky University. While attending EKU, she received the Faculty Recognition Award. She is also a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society. Kim received her training as a family nurse practitioner from the University of North Dakota and Eastern Kentucky University. In addition to being a certified family nurse practitioner, she is also a sexual assault nurse examiner. Prior to joining University Health Service in 1994, Kim was manager of Urgent Treatment Center in Lexington. 


    Diana Bratcher, APRN
    Diana Bratcher received her Diploma in Nursing from Kentucky Baptist Hospital School of Nursing in Louisville. She then received her BSN degree from the University of Kentucky and her Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Pennsylvania. She received her Post Masters Certificate in Nursing from Spalding University in Louisville. She is nationally certified by the American Nursing Credentialing Center as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is a member of the Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society, the American Association of Nurse Practitioners, and the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners and Nurse Midwives. She has worked in various medical settings including geriatrics, family practice, neurosurgery, allergy, correctional medicine, bariatrics and general surgery. She joined University Health Service in 2013 and is the primary provider in the UK Health Plans Urgent Care Clinic.


    Joanne BrownJoanne Brown, ARNP
    Joanne Brown graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from the State University of New York, College at Plattsburgh. She received both her Master of Science degree in nursing and Doctorate of Nursing Practice from the University of Kentucky. She is nationally certified as a women's health nurse practitioner, as a family nurse practitioner and as a certified tobacco treatment specialist. Joanne is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners & Nurse Midwives, the National Association of Nurse Practitioners in Women's Health, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and the UK LGBTQ* Advisory Board. She is actively involved and holds leadership positions with the American College Health Association. She enjoys collaborating with interdisciplinary teams across campus and participating in research activities. Prior to joining University Health Service, Joanne worked as an APRN in a private OB-GYN practice and for a community-based free clinic. She joined UHS in 2006 and although her primary focus is women’s health, Joanne also sees tobacco treatment patients and primary care patients.


    Jennie DoaneJennie Doane, ARNP
    Jennie Doane received her BSN degree from Bellarmine College in Louisville and her MSN from the University of Kentucky, and is certified as a family nurse practitioner. She is a member of American Nurses Association and the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. She joined University Health Service in 1994 and sees primary care patients.


    Jodi Durban, APRN
    Jodi Durban received her BSN degree from Murray State University in Murray, Ky. She completed her Master of Science degree in Nursing from the University of Louisville. Her work experience includes working at rural health clinics in Eastern Kentucky and at Urgent Treatment Center in Lexington. Jodi joined University Health in 2014 and sees patients for primary care and women’s health, and also sees patients part-time in the UK Health Plans Urgent Care Clinic.


    Chris BoggsChristina McGlothlin-Boggs, ARNP
    Chris McGlothlin-Boggs graduated with a BSN degree from the University of Charleston in West Virginia. She completed her Master of Science degree in nursing at the University of Kentucky. She is nationally certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center as a family nurse practitioner. Chris is a member of Sigma Theta Tau and the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Her publications include three chapters in Mosby's Family Nurse Practitioner Certification Exam Review Book. Prior to joining UHS, Chris practiced at the Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) in Lexington as an APRN in the primary and urgent care clinics. While at the VAMC, she received the Secretary of Veterans Affairs Award for Excellence in Nursing in recognition of her support and commitment to veterans. She continues to volunteer weekly at the VA Medical Center as the leader for a Healthy Lifestyle Support Group. At University Health Service, Chris sees primary care patients and works with the IT staff to improve the electronic medical record system. 


    Lori MolenaarLori Molenaar, ARNP 
    Lori Molenaar received her BSN degree from Wright State University and her master of science in nursing from the University of Kentucky. She is certified as a psychiatric/mental health nurse and as a clinical specialist in child and adolescent psychiatric/mental health nursing. Lori is also an adjunct faculty member in the UK College of Nursing. Prior to joining University Health Service, she worked as a staff nurse at Charter Ridge Hospital and at the Lexington-Fayette County Health Department. She also directed an after-school program for severely emotionally disturbed children and their families. Lori joined University Health Service as a member of the behavioral health team in 1997.


    Deb StrombergDeb Stromberg, ARNP 
    Deb Stromberg graduated with her BSN degree from Marian College in Fond du Lac, Wisc. She completed her Master of Science degree in nursing at the University of Kentucky. She is nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners as a family nurse practitioner. Deb is a member of the Kentucky Coalition of Nurse Practitioners. Prior to joining University Health Service, she was in a private medical practice. Deb joined University Health Service in 2005 and although her primary focus is women’s health, she also sees primary care patients.
