Greenhouse Drive Construction to Impact Parking
Beginning November 9, a portion of Greenhouse Drive that runs parallel to Hospital Drive will be closed due to construction in the area. A temporary gravel lane will be located on the east end of Greenhouse Drive, near the intersection of Hospital Drive and Veterans Drive, to allow traffic to exit onto Hospital Drive. Some parking spaces on Hospital Drive and Greenhouse Drive will be closed for the duration of the project. A map of available employee parking can be found at www.uky.edu/Parking/parking-maps.html.
The project is expected to take approximately three months. However, as always, construction work is weather-dependent and the timetable is subject to change.
Members of the campus community are encouraged to tune into 1700 AM (WQKH 253) to hear campus parking and transportation information. The station broadcasts 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Street closure affects access to UK Good Samaritan Hospital
Limestone Street will be closed between Avenue of Champions (Euclid) and Maxwell Street beginning October 7, 2009, as the city continues a comprehensive reconstruction of the street and sidewalks, part of a plan to more closely link the University of Kentucky campus and downtown.

Construction to Impact Section of South Limestone; Through Traffic Permitted
Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 20, construction on the pedestrian bridge connecting the UK HealthCare parking garage with the new UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital will impact the portion of South Limestone between Cooper Drive and Virginia Avenue.
Construction will take place from 7 p.m. until 6 a.m., Monday through Friday, and will close one or two lanes of traffic at all times. The lane closures will shift across South Limestone as the project progresses. Through traffic will be permitted.
The project is expected to take approximately one month. However, as always, construction work is weather-dependent and the timetable is subject to change.

Detour Notice: South Limestone Between Cooper Drive and Virginia Avenue

S. Limestone between Waller Avenue/Cooper Drive and Virginia Avenue in Lexington will be closed between 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 9, and 5 a.m. Monday, Oct. 12, for the erection of a pedestrian bridge connecting the UK HealthCare parking garage with the new UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital now under construction. The UK HealthCare parking garage located at S. Limestone and Transcript Avenue (directly across S. Limestone from the UK HealthCare medical campus) will remain open to patients, visitors and employees. The garage may be accessed via Rose Street.
Drivers going north on Nicholasville Road who need to access UK Chandler Hospital and the UK HealthCare parking garage should turn right onto Cooper Drive, then left onto University, left onto Huguelet Drive and left again on Rose Street/Hospital Drive. After passing in front of the hospital, traffic will cross South Limestone at Transcript to enter the garage.
As local traffic will be allowed between Virginia Avenue and the construction area, drivers going south on S. Limestone can proceed to Transcript Avenue and turn right to access the garage as they normally would. In case of inclement weather, the construction and closure will be rescheduled for Oct. 16-19.

Portion of Leader Avenue Sidewalk Temporarily Closed
For the next 6-8 weeks, the portion of the sidewalk on Leader Avenue in front of the College of Medicine and College of Medicine Learning Center buildings will be closed for construction of a new pedestrian walkway. A temporary pedestrian route will lead pedestrians beside the College of Medicine and behind the College of Medicine and College of Medicine Learning Center buildings. The temporary pedestrian walkway is clearly marked with signs and cordoned off areas.

Traffic Lane Closure Beginning 9/24
Beginning Thursday, Sept. 24, the southbound lane of South Limestone across from the Kentucky Clinic will be closed weekdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. for streetscape restoration in support of the College of Pharmacy project. The southbound lane will also be closed from 6 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 25 to 6 a.m. on Saturday, Sept. 26.
The lane closure will last approximately eight weeks. However, as always, construction is weather-dependent and delays may occur.

Intersection closure affects access to UK Good Samaritan Hospital
On Sept. 16, 2009, utility work closed the S. Limestone and Maxwell St. intersection, in addition to the existing closure of S. Limestone between Avenue of Champions/Euclid Avenue and Vine Street.
