We're building a new hospital
Whether they are visiting UK HealthCare or just passing through the area, Kentuckians are seeing several new signs of progress as we build the new state-of-the-art UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital pavilion.

- Parking changes
The hospital’s former parking garage has been taken down to make way for the new UK Chandler Hospital.
Several floors in the hospital's new garage opened in November and all 1,600 parking spots will be available this spring.
- Free shuttle from garage
Patients and visitors can ride FREE from the new hospital parking garage to the front door of the current hospital.
- New hospital infrastructure
A new fence lines the perimeter of the hospital under construction where crews are working,
- Utility work
A main power feed that primarily runs through the building site is being relocated to Cooper Drive and Woodland Avenue.
Sixty-five percent of the lines being relocated as part of this project will be underground.
- College of Pharmacy Building 'Topped Out'
The new UK College of Pharmacy Building, scheduled for completion in 2010, has reached its maximum height in construction. To commemorate this milestone, a ceremony was held to place the final steel beam at the top of the building. See video >
