Hyperhidrosis, or sweating in excess of that required to cool the body, causes sweaty palms. It is not the result of environmental temperatures and can be embarrassing for those who suffer from the condition. When noninvasive methods have failed for severe cases, a surgical outpatient procedure may provide an adequate level of dryness. UK HealthCare offers a collaborative team with a cardiothoracic surgeon and neurosurgeon to treat hyperhidrosis.

Allergies are the third ranking cause of hospitalization for children under the age of 15. Allergic reactions include sneezing; red, watery eyes; and itching in the ears and mouth and can range from mild to severe. The Asthma, Allergy and Sinus Clinic offers consultative services, comprehensive evaluation and treatment of children for a range of disorders.

The American Cancer Society estimates 63,000 new cases of bladder cancer will be diagnosed in the United States this year. The bladder is a hollow organ with flexible muscular walls that stores urine. Blood nourishes the bladder before it circulates to the rest of the body. This pattern of blood flow may carry cancer cells from the bladder and result in tumors elsewhere in the body. The comprehensive team of specialists and health care providers at UK Markey Cancer Center are trained to diagnose and treat all types of cancer. The team works closely with patients to develop the best treatment options for each individual.
