Nursing educational awards for nursing students in basic RN programs
Following the Institute of Medicine and the American Nurses Credentialing Center's call for nurses to achieve higher levels of education and training, UK HealthCare is committed to being a Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred institution.
These awards are aimed at supporting undergraduate education of students looking to become registered nurses by offering a monetary educational stipend to eligible recipients. One semester of the educational award shall be forgiven for every six months of productive full time service as an RN. Applications for spring semester are due Nov. 1 and applications for fall semester are due no later than July 1. Applicants must be accepted in an accredited program of nursing with a current cumulative overall grade point average (GPA) of 3.0 or better and a cumulative nursing course GPA of 3.0 or better. Applicants must not be currently working as a registered nurse.
