M. Douglas Cunningham, MD

Biography

My name is M. Douglas Cunningham; I received my medical degree from the University of Cincinnati. I later completed a residency at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, California and a fellowship with specialized training in neonatal-perinatal medicine at the University of California, San Diego.

I am board certified in pediatrics and neonatal-perinatal medicine. My research interests focus on neonatal pulmonology.

I served as chief of neonatology at Kentucky Children’s Hospital from 1974 until 1998. I then returned to his home state of California and continued my career at the University of California, Irvine. After more than 20 years of service in California, I rejoined the Kentucky Children’s Hospital team.
