Total Joint Service
Joint health becomes more important because of the wear and tear experienced by joints as part of the natural aging process. UK Orthopaedic Surgery offers a variety of comprehensive services, both operative and non-operative, to treat joint disorders and injuries. The Center for Cartilage Repair and Restoration offers cartilage repair and replacement techniques that can improve your mobility and quality of life while prolonging the need for a partial or total joint replacement.
We offer an advanced joint replacement and reconstruction program for both the knees and the hips. Our program was the first in Kentucky to offer the latest bone sparing implants such as the Birmingham Hip™ Resurfacing technique. We also offer advanced partial knee replacement techniques such as the Oxford Unicompartmental Knee. Total knee or total hip replacements are also treatment options.
Our Total Joint Service practices at UK Good Samaritan Hospital.UK Good Samaritan Hospital has long been a leader in joint replacement and our program is the second largest practice in Kentucky.
Your doctor would like you to attend or view a preoperative education class because research shows that patients who know what to expect have less anxiety, shorter hospital stays and improved outcomes after surgery.
