Nursing community outreach

UK HealthCare Nursing Services provides community outreach by supporting the following community programs:

Look Good . . . Feel Better: a free program teaches beauty techniques to female cancer patients to help them combat appearance-related side effects of cancer treatment. Offered in partnership with American Cancer Society.

I Can Cope: a free educational program for people facing cancer, a friend or family caregiver. This program offers help in the form of reliable information, peer support and practical coping skills. Offered in partnership with American Cancer Society.

Prostate Screening a free prostate cancer screening program offered every 3 months at the Markey Cancer Center. Allows for over 700 men to be screened each year. Sponsored by the Prostate Cancer Education Council (PCEC).

The Injury Prevention Program is based on the National Model Think First Program sponsored by the American Association of Neurological Surgeons and the Congress of Neurosurgeons.
