With the focus being on transition to professional nursing practice, Patricia Benner’s theoretical framework of From Novice to Expert; Excellence and Power in Clinical Practice is used.
The Residency program is offered as a partnership between UK HealthCare and the UK College of Nursing. The Vizient/AACN Nurse Residency curriculum is used and UK’s program is one of few nationwide accredited by the CCNE.
