Join the UK Markey Cancer Center for its inaugural Precision Medicine Symposium to be held March 22, 2017, in Lexington, Ky.
A statewide event, the official title is "Partnering to Advance Cancer Precision Medicine in Kentucky and Beyond: The Future of Cutting-Edge Treatment.”
A first in Kentucky, this symposium will provide strategies for implementing precision medicine into clinical practice.
Precision medicine is a paradigm shift in clinical care of our patients. In cancer, it focuses on understanding genetic mutations and using them to select therapy.
Oncologists, hematologists, pathologists, radiologists, oncology nurses,
researchers, pharmacists, genetic counselors, cancer center administrators and cancer program leaders are encouraged to attend; and, CEUs will be
offered for Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing
Attendees will learn how team science can benefit cancer care based on tumor genetic characteristics. This program will advance the knowledge of practitioners by helping them understand and interpret genetic tests and apply those results to guide patient
care. Continuing Education Units (CEU) will be offered for Medicine, Pharmacy and Nursing.
