At UK Markey Cancer Center, it is our goal to make your visit as easy as possible during your stay. Visiting patients and families have options for parking with easy access to our facilities. Find details on our parking areas below our map, as well as info on taking a shuttle to your destination.

Markey Cancer Center

MCC Outpatient Parking

Patients with an outpatient appointment at the Markey Cancer Center may park in the open parking lot located near the Whitney-Hendrickson Building, accessible via Hospital Drive. This lot is for outpatients with appointments in the Ben F. Roach Building (CC) or the Whitney-Hendrickson Building (WH).

  • Patient drop off is at the circle in front of the Markey Cancer Center, Ben Roach building. (No parking in the circle; for pick-up and drop-off only.)  
  • Drive around the circle and pull into the parking barricade on the right, then proceed to the right to the Whitney-Hendrickson parking lot.
  • For parking overflow, families and visitors should park in the Transcript Ave. KY Clinic garages.

The UK HealthCare parking garage at 110 Transcript Ave. serves Markey Cancer Center patients and visitors. It is the preferred garage for patients staying in Pavilion A, or for patients and visitors who can walk to Markey.

Please allow 15 to 20 minutes to get to your appointment.

There is a fee for parking. However, the rates are considerably lower for patients and families, so don’t forget to have your parking ticket validated at your clinic appointment.

  • Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
  • Attendant on duty: Monday through Thursday 8:30 a.m. – 9 p.m.; Friday, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.
  • Parking fees are $0.75 per hour, with a maximum charge of $6 per exit.

Shuttle service to Markey

Free, wheelchair-friendly (no steps) shuttle buses are available to transport visitors safely to and from the Markey Campus from 5:30 a.m. - 1 a.m. each evening. 

Pick-up at Albert B.Chandler Parking Garage

  • Shuttle buses arrive every three to five minutes.
  • After getting on the shuttle, the Markey Stop is the SECOND stop at Pavilion H (the old Hospital).
  • Shuttle ambassadors are available at the shuttle loading area 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. to answer questions and help patients and visitors access the shuttles. Ambassadors are also stationed at each shuttle stop to provide assistance. 

Pick-up at Pavillion A

  • Pavillion A Shuttle pick-up is available at the new hospital building.
  • Shuttle buses arrive every three to five minutes.
  • After getting on the shuttle, the Markey Stop is the SECOND stop at Pavilion H (the old Hospital).
  • Shuttle ambassadors are available at the shuttle loading area 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. to answer questions and help patients and visitors access the shuttles. Ambassadors are also stationed at each shuttle stop to provide assistance. 

Pick-up at Pavillion H

  • Pavillion H Shuttle pick-up is available at the older hospital building near Markey.
  • From there, a golf cart is available to take you to Markey to the Ben F. Roach Building or Whitney-Hendrickson Building.
  • Shuttle buses arrive every three to five minutes.
  • Shuttle ambassadors are available at the shuttle loading area 6 a.m. – 10 p.m. to answer questions and help patients and visitors access the shuttles. Ambassadors are also stationed at each shuttle stop to provide assistance.

Shuttle service is also available between UK Good Samaritan and UK Chandler Hospital 6:45 a.m. – 5:45 p.m. on weekdays. Shuttles depart from the main entry of Good Samaritan Hospital and from the front loop of Pavilion A (the new building) every 15 minutes.

Patients and families may park in the Kentucky Clinic Parkin Garage adjacent to the clinic, just a seven minute walk to the Markey Cancer Center. The Markey Cancer Center buildings are behind the KY Clinic Garage.

There is a fee for parking. However, the rates are considerably lower for patients and families, so don’t forget to have your parking ticket validated at your clinic appointment.

Handicapped parking is available on the ground level of the Kentucky Clinic Garage.

Wheelchair assistance may be requested using the information phones found just inside each entrance, at the information desks or by calling 859-323-5581 from your car after you arrive at the clinic.

For disabled patients who do not have a state-issued disabled parking permit, special one-day passes are available at the information desks. This permit allows patients to park in the disabled parking area.

General Parking Information

Parking for visitors with disabilities:

  • Parking spaces for visitors with disabilities are located near UK HealthCare facilities and are available to visitors with special needs. These spaces require a disabled permit issued by Parking Services or a gate attendant.

  • Call 859-323-8085 to get assistance finding accessible parking or a permit.

Extended parking passes for visitors:

  • Visitors needing continual access to the UK HealthCare Garage and Kentucky Clinic Garage for an extended time may purchase a seven-day Visitor Pass. For information, call the Parking Service Office at 859-323-8085.
  • Passes cost $20 a week for the first and second passes. After buying two consecutive seven-day passes, there is no charge for additional consecutive passes.
  • Passes are available at the Parking Service Office in the Hospital Garage, 110 Transcript Ave., 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m., Monday - Friday.
  • Passes can be used in UK Hospital Garage and Kentucky Clinic Garage.
  • The pass should be displayed on the rear-view mirror while parked.
  • Show the pass to the parking booth attendant when you give them your fee ticket and you will not be charged for parking.
  • Passes are non-transferable and the fee to replace a lost or stolen pass is $5.
