• Head and neck cancer

If you’ve been diagnosed with any form of head and neck cancer, the UK Markey Cancer Center is here to help. We can offer leading-edge treatments and clinical trials only available at premier cancer centers, and all personalized to your specific needs.

We specialize in the treatment of benign (non-cancerous) and malignant tumors of the lips, mouth, tongue, pharynx (between the larynx and esophagus), esophagus and larynx (voice box). Our team also includes specially trained nurses with experience helping patients just like you and specialized researchers working to develop the very latest treatments.

We also have a dedicated thyroid cancer team that specializes in treating patients with benign or malignant tumors of the thyroid, parathyroid and adrenal glands.

Treatment options include thyroid and parathyroid surgery, microvascular reconstruction, cutaneous malignancy and laser surgery.

Radiation therapy, often combined with chemotherapy, is frequently used to treat these cancers. The goal of this therapy is to treat the cancer while minimizing side effects.

Most of all, we never forget that you’re more than a cancer patient. You’ll be seen in a comfortable, supportive environment. Our goal is to treat you as a whole person, and to get you back to your life as quickly as possible.
