• Neuro-ophthalmology program

The UK neuro-ophthalmology service is one of two neuro-ophthalmology referral centers in Kentucky. We provide a timely and effective consultation service to both patients and providers at UK HealthCare, across Kentucky and in surrounding regions. We offer support to clinical research trials that require neuro-ophthalmic evaluations such as multiple sclerosis clinical trials.

  • Inpatient and outpatient consultations

The neuro-ophthalmology division provides outpatient consultations with referrals from ophthalmologists, neurologists, neurosurgeons, rehabilitation centers (such as Cardinal Hill), primary care and optometrists as well as inpatient consultations for patients admitted to UK Chandler and Good Samaritan hospitals.

  • Consultation and resources

Our department offers consultation services to patients with eye movement and vision problems related to nervous system diseases. Resources available to neuro-ophthalmology patients include:

    • Static and kinetic visual field testing
    • Visual functions testing
    • Neurological, neurosurgical and neuro-radiological services at UK Albert B. Chandler Hospital
