April 3 — American Heart Association Moving for Healthy Hearts Challenge
All UK Gill Heart Institute employees are invited to put on their sneakers and join the Healthy Hearts Challenge, a 10-week walking challenge with the University of Louisville. The university with the largest amount of physical activity among the challenge participants wins! Last year U of L won, so we need to return the trophy to UK! The activity is calculated via the average number of steps entered into an online AHA database (www.startwalkingnow.org). Participants are responsible for entering all their physical activity. The challenge lasts April 3 - June 11. The walk commences at noon on Wednesday, April 3, starting on Rose Street between Parking Structure 2 and the Mining and Minerals Building. It's an easy, half-mile route around campus, led by Dr. Mary Lynne Capilouto and the UK Wildcat mascot. For more information and to register for the walking challenge, go to the event Web page.
