During my visit last week with the Autism Society of the Bluegrass, I mentioned how I was able to meet several of the folks who run UK's Human Development Institute (HDI). http://www.hdi.uky.edu/ Thanks to their partnership with the Kentucky Council on Development Disabilities http://chfs.ky.gov/kcdd/ , HDI has created several online training modules to help health care providers understand how best to provide care for individuals with disabilities.

There are now four Pre-service Health Training Tutorials posted on the Web, with each including a video library:

Dental Students Modules (http://dental.phtmodules.net/)

Nurse Practitioners Modules (http://np.phtmodules.net/)

Physician Assistants Modules (http://pa.phtmodules.net/)

Women's  Health Training Module (http://womenshealth.phtmodules.net/)

Each is a multi-media, interactive program that includes written information points, Flash-based videos modeling professional treatment situations, quizzes that ask professionals to test their knowledge, and provides certificates for performance above 70% on the quizzes.

And, they are cost-free, thanks to the support of the Kentucky Council on Developmental Disabilities!
