It is important for pediatric cancer patients five years off of treatment to receive long-term follow-up care to control and maintain any adverse effects from chemotherapy, radiation and surgeries. The potential long-term effects vary depending on age diagnosed and therapy used.
Effects from therapy can include:
- Organ failure
- Infertility
- Weight gain
- Loss of energy
At the Long-Term Follow-Up Clinic, Dr. Sherry Bayliff offers comprehensive health evaluations, recommendations and health resources to ensure your health is maintained throughout the years. The initial consult is a full day of testing and review. Thereafter, an annual appointment is recommended.
