The Pediatric Neurology Clinic provides evaluation for infants and children under age sixteen for a wide range of neurological disorders. These disorders include seizures, headaches, tics, developmental delay, cerebral palsy, muscle weakness (myopathy), speech disfunction (congenital aphasia) and learning disabilities. Patients with difficult-to-control epilepsy or genetic disorders may be evaluated in the Pediatric Neurology Clinic as well as in the UK Epilepsy Center, Genetics Clinic or Pediatric Neurobehavior Disorders groups. Our physicians see children with neurogenetic disorders and advise their families.
Inpatients are seen in the UK Chandler Hospital nurseries and Kentucky Children's Hospital. Outpatients are seen in the Kentucky Clinic (Neurology) as well as in Eastern Kentucky counties where clinics are held in conjunction with the Commission for Children with Special Health Care Needs (CCSHCN). Once a month, a Muscular Dystrophy Association affiliated clinic is held for children with various forms of neuromuscular disease.
