The daughter of New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg broke her spine and had a concussion after she fell from her horse on November 5, 2010.
Georgina Bloomberg was competing in the Syracuse Invitational Sporthorse Tournament, and her saddle came loose when she was over a jump, and she fell from her mount.
Although she was unconscious after her fall, she walked out of the arena and did not seek medical attention until the next morning, when she experienced some back pain. She suffered a minor concussion and a fracture in one of her vertebrae.
She is a national champion show jumper, and this has certainly not been her first horse accident. She has broken a leg, a foot, another vertebrae and her collarbone as results of falling off.
She is doing well, and reports to be eager to be back in the saddle as soon as the doctors give her the green light.
