For those of you with some extra energy to burn off this weekend, the annual DanceBlue marathon is definitely worth your time.

DanceBlue is a student-run charitable organization here at UK. It's a year-long fundraising drive that culminates in a 24-hour dance marathon on campus.

The money raised by volunteers goes to the Golden Matrix Fund, which benefits UK pediatric oncology patients. Since DanceBlue started six years ago, the group has raised nearly $2 million to support pediatric cancer patients and their families at UK.

This year's DanceBlue marathon starts at 8 p.m. Friday and runs through 8 p.m. Saturday. Volunteer advisor Jennifer Mynear tells me that this year's event will feature patients from pediatric oncology participating in a talent show, a children's costume show and memorial tribunes. Family hours will run from 4-8 p.m. on Saturday.

As you can see in this video, DanceBlue is a great way to have some fun and raise money for an important, worthy cause.
