Circle of Love Program: The Gift that Keeps on Giving

It is hard to believe that the holiday season is right around the corner. This time of year, we are extra busy at UK HealthCare trying to bring cheer to patients and families who are facing difficult health issues. Our efforts to bring a bit of extra happiness to those who are less fortunate also extend beyond our medical center walls.

For most children, there is no greater joy than waking up to a room full of presents.  However, many children right here in Central Kentucky, have never experienced this feeling due to a lack of financial resources. This is where we at UK and UK HealthCare come in.

The UK HealthCare Volunteer Office is currently holding the annual "Circle of Love" program. This program allows UK HealthCare employees to pick up wish lists of needy children to "sponsor." Simply pick up a wish list, purchase gifts and return the wrapped presents to one of the designated spots to make a child's holiday a little merrier.

Tables will be open at the following sites for as long as they are available from Nov. 28-30 and Dec. 1-2:

UK Chandler Hospital gift shop, Pavilion H, 8 a.m.-4 p.m.
Kentucky Clinic Hall of Fame, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.
UK Good Samaritan Hospital cafeteria, 11 a.m.-1 p.m.

Gifts are to be turned in Dec. 5 and 6 in the various locations
