Rehabilitation
Services
The Rehabilitation
Services Department is comprised of physical therapists, occupational
therapists and speech-language pathologists who evaluate and treat
people with health problems resulting from injury or disease. Your
physician will prescribe the appropriate therapy during your hospital
stay.
A physical therapist
assesses joint motion, muscle strength and endurance, function of
heart and lungs, and performance of activities required in daily
living, among other responsibilities.
An occupational therapist
works with people of all ages who, because of illness, injury or
other impairment, need specialized assistance in learning skills
to enable them to lead independent, productive and satisfying lives.
Speech-language pathologists
work with people who have speech or language impairment because
of disease or injury.
Rehabilitation services
are available 7 days a week in the hospital. Our facility also provides
outpatient therapy at our office in the Samaritan
Medical Plaza located at 125 E. Maxwell St., Suite 101, and at our
satellite clinic located at 4071 Tates Creek Office Center, Suite
200.
