Introduction and How to Prepare

We've designed this site to better prepare you for your visit to the Diagnostic Imaging Department at Samaritan Hospital.

  • Please arrive 20 minutes before your appointment on the Ground Floor in Central Registration.
  • Please check with your physician regarding your current medications.
  • Please notify your physician if there is a possibility that you're pregnant.
  • If you are diabetic, please obtain instructions from your physician regarding diet and medications.
  • If you have an allergy to intravenous contrast, please notify your physician so that appropriate pre-medication can be arranged. If you have an allergy and are not pre-medicated, the examination may need to be rescheduled.

What to Expect and how to Prepare

When your doctor orders one of the following exams, it's important that you follow instructions to help ensure the most accurate results. We will explain the exam in detail when you arrive and will do our best to make you comfortable during the procedure.

In most cases we'll ask you to wait a few minutes after the exam while we develop your films.

If you have any questions before your exam, please call Central Registration at 226-7010.
