Additional information

My name is P. Andrew Pearson; I received my medical degree from the University of Cincinnati, College of Medicine. I completed a fellowship at the Duke University Eye Center, Durham, N.C. I am board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. I am a recognized expert in the field of ocular drug delivery and have been a co-developer of several FDA-approved sustained drug delivery devices for the treatment of retinal disease.

Personal statement

My goal, as chairman of the department, is to build a really top-notch academic program for the institution and for the Commonwealth of Kentucky. I'm inspired by the growth. Our faculty has more than quadrupled, our patient volumes are way up and we provide high-quality complex care for the entire region. I'm inspired to continue that growth and to expand our reach to help people who need eye care. We have specialists in every subspecialty field in ophthalmology so patients can expect the best care for whatever their problem is.
