My name is Navin Rajagopalan; I am the Medical Director of Cardiac Transplantation at the University of Kentucky. I completed both my undergraduate degree and medical school training at Ohio State University. I completed internal medicine residency training at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota before moving on to the University of Pittsburgh for a cardiovascular fellowship. Following completion of a fellowship, I obtained an additional year of training at the University of Pittsburgh in advanced heart failure and cardiac transplantation.
I was on faculty for 2 years in the Heart Failure/Transplantation program at the University of Pittsburgh before being recruited to the University of Kentucky. I have served as Medical Director of the Heart Transplant Program since 2009.
My clinical interests include advanced heart failure, peripartum cardiomyopathy, pulmonary hypertension, mechanical circulatory support, and cardiac transplantation.
