Biography

My name is Barbara Phillips; I am a Professor of Pulmonary, Critical Care, and Sleep Medicine at the University of Kentucky, College of Medicine, Lexington where I have spent my entire professional career. I established and direct the University of Kentucky Sleep Center. I serve as President-Elect and Regent at Large of the American College of Chest Physicians. I am a past-chairman of the National Sleep Foundation and the American Board of Sleep Medicine. I have served on the boards of the American Lung Association, the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the Medical Advisory Board of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration, and the Advisory Board to the National Center on Sleep Disorders Research.

I have received a Sleep Academic Award from the National Institutes of Health and an Excellence in Education Award from the American Academy of Sleep Medicine.
